 The Girl Without Color

The inspiration for this character was found while I was walking back from dinner and I walked past some cloth hanging out of a brick. As I looked closer to the piece of fabric I saw a girl who looked like she was crying and trying to run back to shelter in her hidden hole.

I really liked how the cloth looked like a long draping dress, so when I first tried to recreate the character, I honed in on the dramatic dress and head wrapping.

As I was drawing the girls I began to think of her story and that is where I started changing the drawing to match the story I was creating in my head.

The Story Of The Girl Without Color

A young girl was born into a world full of color and beauty. Everything around her including the people were vibrant and full of life. Everything in this world was beautiful except her. Because she lacked color. She was just an outline of a girl surrounded by color. Because she lacked no color she was removed from society. It was while she was wandering the world of color looking for a place to call home she stumbled upon a land where color did not exist. Here she found peace. Yet she was still alone. No one was to be found in this land. At least no one for now. And this is how the Great Extermination of Color came to be...
