Fish For Days and Math

Minecraft Fishing Stats The most challenging part of making this assignment was not the calculations. The hardest part was figuring out how to classify all the statistics and grouping them together. For example, what is the particle effect time and what should we call it? What really helped with keeping the data simple was the concrete numbers such as the cast time and the number if used for a rod. This allowed the calculations to only vary in the wait times. I couldn't quite figure out how the effects interacted with each other if you stacked enchants with fishing in the rain.

Cute As A Button These are my button figures.   I pulled these pictures of hermit crabs because my character will carry a button on his back but he can also hide under the button. I am using the hermit crab as a model for how the character should wear the button because it functions similarly to the shell. One picture features the hermit out of the shell and the other demonstrates the hermit hidden within the shell. I have this picture of a stick figure because I want the character to be stupidly simple and basic but have a whole lot of attitude involved. Therefore I grabbed this picture from the video of the stick figure animation coming to life YouTube video to see how to display attitude in a simple for. Here Is the Bar Napkin Sketch What The Blurbs say... He has little feet to indicate the direction he is facing and his direction of travel. He has detailed hands because he needs opposable thumbs to cause chaos. He has no facial features to keep the simplicity of the charac...

This Is Oober When I ride in cars I often get motion sick so as a kid I started to try and find characters in the passing trees to help me distract myself from the motion. For this assignment, I went back to that I used the tree shapes around me to create Oober. My first drawing of Oober made him really big but I played around with the head size and body size to make him much cuter and friendly. Oober is a little forest creature that likes to cause mischief.  I found so many characters in the trees around me that I will now be using this to help me come up with more characters.

Sociological Gibbles reside in the forest. Their origin goes back thousands of years to the first artist who composed their first pieces of music.   While I was sitting at work I was looking around me and I happened to notice this chair with this extravagant detail. It reminded me originally of a mask but I wanted to try and push my creativity further. I began to picture a Lion whose mane took inspiration from the piece of the chair pictured above. I created a lion's mane that had a sharp edge vs. a feathered edge. I also added some lines to give more dimension to the mane. The leaf-like design of the chair inspired me to make the edges of the main much like squiggles rather than sharp points. Allow Me To Introduce You To Theodore  Raylein (Ray-Lee-In) Physical Theodore is a Lion who stands at 8ft tall towering over any creature that dared challenge him. Theodore's fur consists of many variants of blues, reds, pinks, yellows, and more (Inspo featured above). His fur glistened like it was a reflection of a prism itself. The most impressive part of Theodore is his mane. A solid fan of colors surrounded his face backed by f...

Society of Sprouts While walking past the cafe I stopped by a MicroGreens tent and picked up these lovely patches of Arugula and Snap Peas. Upon further investigation, I began to notice little sprout people popping out at me. At an even closer look, I noticed that the snap peas had little balls at the very end of the sprouts close to the roots. This is where I got the inspiration for the head of my sprout people. I played around with the concept of the sprout on your head representing both your age and status. The more sprouts you had the older you were. The more complex the pattern of the sprouts the higher you rank in society. As you can see in one of my drawings I created the sprout kind and his crown of sprouts. Damsel in Distress Trope Our lovely flower sprout (female) is in danger of being bullied by the evil ants. The unsuspecting, low-ranking, sprout comes to her rescue and saves the day.  I would invert the trope and cause something unexpected to happen such as... T...

The Girl Without Color The inspiration for this character was found while I was walking back from dinner and I walked past some cloth hanging out of a brick. As I looked closer to the piece of fabric I saw a girl who looked like she was crying and trying to run back to shelter in her hidden hole. I really liked how the cloth looked like a long draping dress, so when I first tried to recreate the character, I honed in on the dramatic dress and head wrapping. As I was drawing the girls I began to think of her story and that is where I started changing the drawing to match the story I was creating in my head. The Story Of The Girl Without Color A young girl was born into a world full of color and beauty. Everything around her including the people were vibrant and full of life. Everything in this world was beautiful except her. Because she lacked color. She was just an outline of a girl surrounded by color. Because she lacked no color she was removed from society. It was while she was...
